Tylor Bashlor made his Winter League debut last night. Sam Haggerty did not play.   We will get to that in the Winter League updates below.

Elite Sports NY looks at free agent Daniel Hudson’s fit with the Mets.  Daniel has the same agent as Zack Wheeler.

Mike’s Mets had an affiliate review of the Binghamton Mets. 

As I mentioned yesterday in Breakfast Links, Binghamton is potentially on the chopping block to be eliminated in 2021 as part of MLB’s plan to eliminate 42 minor league teams. 

Today, Binghamton Rumble Ponies are holding a Press Conference at 2:30PM for a press conference to share concerns over the MLB plan to contract Minor League Baseball.  I hope they get the Press Conference in.  Snow storm expected today.

MLB Trade Rumors notes how the Twins met with Zack Wheeler’s representatives at the winter meetings last week.

The NY Daily News Talks about potential Mets coaches. 

The Mets Police posted the Mets Help Wanted ad for a Mental Performance Coach.

In Winter Ball Last night:

Sam Haggerty’s team, Leones del Escogido played Toros Del Este but Sam was not in the lineup.

Sam has just played two games this winter going 1 for 8 with a stolen base for a .125 average.  In his last game on Friday, Sam Haggerty had a tough game, going 0 for 4 with three strikeouts. 

Tyler Bashlor did appear in that game for Toros Del Este making his winter ball debut.  Tyler struck out the first batter, gave up a single, struck out the next batter and retired the final batter on a line out to center to close out the game in the 8-0 Toros win.

Chris Mazza and Daniel Zamora are also on the Toros roster.  Daniel Zamora has yet to pitch this winter. 

Chris Mazza has pitched two games, throwing three scoreless innings giving up 2 hits with 4 K’s, no walks.  The highlight of his outings is when he struck out Juan Lagares on this last Saturday night.  Mostly a starter last year in the Minors then put in the Bullpen when called to the Majors. Looks like he is trying to work on his bullpen role this winter. 

Harol Gonzalez in 6 games this winter is 0-2 with a 5.52 ERA, 14.2 innings, 25 hits, 11 runs (9 earned), 7 walks, 12 stirkeouts.  Harol is Rule 5 eligible.  More about Harol here.

Adonis Uceta  has done well this winter but has not pitched since November 7^th.  Signed in February 2013, Adonis also is Rule 5 Draft eligible this December.  In 8 games Adonis is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 6.1 innings with 2 unearned runs, 6 K’s, 6 walks and 2 hits for a 1.26 WHIP.

St. Lucie’s Carlos Hernandez has appeared in just two games, 0-1 with an 18.00 ERA. 

Juan Uriarte rehabbing from injury also has not played since November 5^th.  Playing in the Mexican Pacific League, Juan is .071 in 7 games, 14 at bats, 1 hit, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts.

Still no signs of Edwin Diaz or Jeurys Familia.  I’ll keep looking at the rosters of the teams in the Dominican, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico for Mets.

Some notable ex-Mets include Wuilmer Becerra who is hitting .370 in Venezuela; 2019 Syracuse Mets Arismendy Alcantara who is hitting .246 in the Dominican.  

I mentioned Juan Lagares above.  Juan is hitting .407 in 7 games, 27 at-bats, 11 hits, all singles.  

Jordany Valdespin is hitting .350 (2^nd in league), 2 homers, 9 RBI’s.  

T.J. Rivera was playing in the Dominican league where he hit .200 in 19 games and now is playing in Puerto Rico, .143 in 2 games.
