Per Jeff Passan, The New York Mets have made a big splash to get a solid starting pitcher, Chris Bassitt. Going to Oakland are Pitching Prospects J.T. Ginn and Adam Oller.
In 2021 Chris Bassitt went 12-4 in 27 game starts, 157 Ks in 157.1 innings.
Mets.com has JT as the #4 Mets Prospect. Mets.com did not list Adam Oller on their top 30 list.

That’s a solid move for the Mets, who fill out and stabilize their rotation.@JeffPassan and @Joelsherman1 had the news first.

I hope Ginn reaches expectations and is in the spot of A's rotation that Bassett is going to be for Mets in 2022. Among other things it's on Mets to hit on the next draft and use their extra new player development resources anyway to get more newcomers.

By moving JT Ginn, the #Mets have now traded 8 of their 14 first or second round picks since 2016.

The Mets have a really nice starting pitching situation
Trading for a pitcher going into his walk year might seem risky, but it worked out well for the Mets a little over 20 years ago. Remember Mike Hampton? MVP of the 2000 NLCS. Left after that season, but he helped them win a pennant. Chris Bassitt. Great addition for the Mets.

Chris Bassitt is projected by @mlbtraderumors to make $8.8MM in arbitration (he will be a FA next year).
— Mets Fix (@MetsFix) March 12, 2022
That brings the Mets payroll to around $280MM, which carries a tax penalty of ~$16 million.
If you include a $10MM buffer for in-season moves, Mets right at $290MM
