The Brooklyn Cyclones (3-8) try to return to the win column against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (6-5) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island.

 

RHP Raimon Gómez (0-0, 12.27) will make his third start of the season for Brooklyn against Wilmington's RHP Andry Lara (0-0, 3.60).

White slapped an RBI single, C Wilmer Pérez and SS Jordy Barley coaxed run-scoring walks, and LF Jacob Young capped the frame with a sacrifice fly...RHP Joander Suárez posted 5.0 frames of 1-run ball in a no-decision for the ‘Clones...LHP Andrew Alvarez punched out 9 in 4.2 frames for the Rocks.

 

DANG, DANIEL!: LHP Daniel Juárez has been as dominant as can be out of the bullpen for the Cyclones in 2023...In his first 4 outings of the campaign, the southpaw holds a 1-0 record with 1 save...He has not permitted a run on 3 hits and a walk, striking out 8...In 9 regular season appearances with the ‘Clones dating back to last season, Juárez has yielded only 1 unearned run in 9.1 innings...The 22-year-old has not surrendered an earned run in 17 straight appearances dating back to last year...Juárez last allowed earned runs on June 22, 2022, with Single-A St. Lucie at Palm Beach...Since then, he is 3-0 with 8 hits allowed, 10 walks, and 23 strikeouts in 19.2 innings.


RED HOT RAMÍREZ: OF Alex Ramírez comes into Thursday riding a season-high 6-game hitting streak...That is tied with OF Omar De Los Santos for the longest-hitting streak by a Cyclone in 2023...The 20-year-old is 9-for-his-last-24 (.375) with 4 runs scored, 2 doubles, a home run, 5 RBI, 3 walks, and 2 stolen bases...Since joining Brooklyn last July 4, Ramírez leads all SAL hitters in hits (75) and extra-base hits (27)...He is also 2nd in total bases (115) and tied for 2nd in RBI (41).
