The Brooklyn Cyclones (18-8, 46-45) battle the Wilmington Blue Rocks (9-17, 38-52) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — on Thursday night at 7 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y. 

RHP Jordany Ventura (0-0, 3.68 ERA) — the Mets’ No. 19 prospect per MLB Pipeline — is scheduled to toe the slab for Brooklyn against Wilmington’s RHP Brad Lord (1-0, 0.00 ERA).

TIME TO MAKE THE DONUTS: Brooklyn collected their 8th shutout win of the season with a 3-0 blanking of Wilmington on Wednesday...5 different pitchers combined on the 3-hit shutout...RHPs Blade Tidwell (5.0 IP), Jace Beck (1.0), Brendan Hardy (1.0), Dylan Hall (1.0), and LHP Eli Ankeney (1.0)...It was the Cyclones’ first shutout since a 3-0 victory vs. Greensboro on July 15...Brooklyn has surpassed their shutout total from 2022 (7)...The last time Brooklyn accrued more than 8 shutouts in a season was when they tallied 10 in 76 games in the New York-Penn League in 2014.
