The Brooklyn Cyclones (12-12) attempt to even the series at two wins apiece against the Aberdeen IronBirds (13-11) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — on Friday at 7 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.

 

RHP Brandon Sproat (1-0, 1.23) — the New York Mets’ No. 11 prospect per Baseball America — is expected to take the for the Cyclones. The IronBirds are projected to counter RHP Zachary Fruit (0-1, 3.86).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn dropped its second-straight contest to Aberdeen, 7-1, in 10 innings on Thursday afternoon at Maimonides Park...The Cyclones yielded a season-high-tying six runs in the top of the 10th inning...RHP Jonah Tong struck out seven batters in his High-A and Brooklyn debut, permitting just one unearned run over five innings...RHP Dakota Hawkins followed his performance with four frames of shutout relief, collecting four whiffs...RHP Moisés Chace hurled four scoreless in the start for Aberdeen, while RHP Juan Núñez punched out eight in 4.2 innings of relief.
