Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (16-12) will try and stretch their win streak to a season-long five against the Rome Emperors (14-12) — the High-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves — on Wednesday at 7 p.m. from AdventHealth Stadium in Rome, Ga.

 

RHP Jonah Tong (0-0, 0.00) — the New York Mets’ No. 22 prospect entering 2024 per Baseball America — is expected to take the ball for the Cyclones. The Emperors are projected to counter with the Braves’ No. 4 farmhand per Baseball America, RHP Owen Murphy (3-2, 1.52).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn matched a season-best with its fourth-straight victory, a 6-2 romp over Rome on Tuesday night...1B Nick Lorusso registered a 2-for-5 night, scoring a pair of runs and adding a double and an RBI single to start the scoring in the third...DH Nolan McLean also had multiple knocks, going 2-for-4...The 22-year-old singled and provided a three-run double to cap Brooklyn's scoring in the fifth...CF Nick Morabito went 1-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base, while C Chris Suero went 0-for-3 with a walk in their Cyclone debuts...LHP Felipe De La Cruz earned his first win of the season, striking out a season-best eight over a year-high five shutout innings...RHP Jake Stevenson tossed a scoreless sixth — striking out two — in his Mets' organizational and Brooklyn debut...2B E.J. Exposito broke up the shutout for Rome with two out in the ninth on a two-run home run to left-center.

 

FOURTH MEAL: The Cyclones enter Wednesday's contest riding a season-high-tying four-game winning streak...This dates back to Friday's 2-0 victory vs. Aberdeen...During the stretch, the 'Clones have outscored opponents, 17-4...Brooklyn previously won four straight from April 20-24 at Jersey Shore and vs. Wilmington...The Cyclones have not won five consecutive contests since July 3-7, 2023, vs. Jersey Shore and at Wilmington.
