Press Release: New York Mets to host 2024 Wheelchair Softball Clinic at Citi Field on Tuesday, May 21

The New York Mets will host the 2024 Wheelchair Softball Clinic on Tuesday, May 21 at Citi Field. The clinic will be co-hosted by the Wheelchair Sports Federation and the Mets Accessibility and Disability Alliance Employee Resource Group, and the event is sponsored by the Amazin' Mets Foundation and Citi.

The adapted athletes and volunteers from the Wheelchair Sports Federation will facilitate a clinic for approximately 100 student athletes from District 75 of the NYC Public Schools. This district provides highly specialized instructional support for students with disabilities and significant challenges. The clinic will run from 10:30– 11:30 a.m. Prior to the clinic, the adapted athletes from the Wheelchair Sports Federation will play a game of softball.

Following the clinic, Team USA Paralympian Adam Page will speak with the students and adapted athletes about his triumphs and challenges he's faced at the Paralympics and how organizations like the Mets and Citi are promoting equity across sport.

The event will also have appearances by Mets alumni Todd Zeile and Mr. Met.
