Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (30-29) look to halt a four-game slide against the Hudson Valley Renegades (31-27) — the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees — on Thursday at 6:35 p.m. from Heritage Financial Park in Wappingers Falls, N.Y.

 

RHP Jonathan Pintaro (0-0, 2.25) is expected to take the hill for the Cyclones in the first start of his affiliated career. The Renegades are projected to counter with the RHP Sebastian Keane (4-4, 4.86).

LAST TIME OUT: The Cyclones dropped their fourth-straight contest in a 6-0 loss at Hudson Valley on Wednesday night...All six Renegades’ runs were scored in the bottom of the second inning...Hudson Valley scored six runs on six hits and sent 12 men to the plate...RHP Jeffrey Colón entered with the bases loaded and one out in the frame, proceeding to strand all three men on base...The 24-year-old would pitch the rest of the way for the Cyclones, tossing 6.2 innings of four-hit shutout relief, whiffing a season-high six...LF Chris Suero reached base three times for Brooklyn on an infield single, a fielding error, and a walk...RHPs Baron Stuart (6.0 IP), Eric Reyzelman (2.0), and Hueston Morrill (1.0) combined to toss a two-hit shutout for the Renegades...It was Brooklyn's seventh shutout defeat of 2024.

 

CALM, COLÓN, COLLECTED: RHP Jeffrey Colón was sublime out of the bullpen for the Cyclones on Wednesday night...The 24-year-old stranded the bases loaded with one out in the second inning, hurling 6.2 innings of shutout ball...Colón scattered four hits and struck out a season-best six...The 6.2 innings on the hill was the longest effort by the Las Matas de Farfán, D.R. native since he threw 6.2 innings in a start, taking a no-decision, on May 26, 2023, vs. Winston-Salem...The 6.2 innings of the bump also matched the longest outing by a Cyclone pitcher this year...RHP Jonah Tong tossed 6.2 innings of one-run ball to earn the win in a start vs. Hudson Valley on May 21...Colón is the first Brooklyn relief pitcher to toss 6.2+ innings since RHP Jordan Geber posted 7.0 scoreless innings to earn the win vs. Aberdeen on May 7, 2023...Colón and Geber are the only South Atlantic League pitchers to throw 6.2+ innings in a single game since the start of the 2023 season.
