Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (2-6, 35-39) look to snag the series finale from the Aberdeen IronBirds (6-2, 40-34) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — at 2:05 p.m. on Sunday from Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, Md.

LHP Felipe De La Cruz (3-5, 3.81) is expected to take the hill for the Cyclones. The IronBirds are projected to counter with LHP Luis De León (0-1, 4.21), the Orioles’ No. 17 prospect per MLB Pipeline.

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn failed to grab its second-straight victory on Saturday night, falling to Aberdeen by a final score of 8-3...The game was tied at two after three innings, but the IronBirds would outscore the Cyclones 6-1 the rest of the way, including a three spot in the bottom of the eighth...Despite the defeat, RF Wilfredo Lara pieced together a strong effort, going 3-for-4 at the dish with a home run, two runs scored, a swiped bag, and an outfield assist...The three hits for Lara tied a season-high...SS Jesús Báez launched his first career High-A home run in the first inning...RHP Jake Stevenson hurled 2.0 innings of scoreless relief, striking out two without allowing a hit.

 

THIS DATE IN CYCLONES HISTORY: On June 30, 2006, the Brooklyn Cyclones outlasted the Aberdeen IronBirds, 1-0, in 15 innings at Maimonides Park...3B Jonathan Malo provided the game-winning RBI double to close out the 4-hour and 19-minute contest...In 2008, after Hudson Valley scored two in the top of the ninth to tie the game, the Cyclones walked off winners, 6-5, thanks to a 1B Ike Davis RBI infield single in the bottom of the frame...In 2011, the 'Clones clobbered four home runs to defeat Hudson Valley, 16-5, on the road...RF Javier Rodríguez went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a grand slam, accumulating six runs batted in...in 2012, CF Brandon Nimmo broke a two-all tie in the bottom of the seventh with a grand slam for his first home run as a Cyclone, as Brooklyn beat Aberdeen, 6-2...In 2023, RHP Blade Tidwell struck out 11 over 7.0 innings of one-run ball to earn the win in the Cyclones' 5-1 win vs. Jersey Shore.
