Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (28-24) and Major League rehabber C Francisco Alvarez continue a six-game series against the Aberdeen IronBirds (26-26) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.

RHP Jawilme Ramírez (2-1, 3.86) is expected to take the hill for the Cyclones in his third start of 2024. The IronBirds are projected to counter with RHP Preston Johnson (2-3, 7.39).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn tossed the first nine-inning no-hitter in franchise history, shutting out Aberdeen, 3-0...RHP Dakota Hawkins tossed 5.0 innings of scoreless ball in his second professional start...Allowed one baserunner on a leadoff walk to SS Jalen Vasquez in the third...RHP Joey Lancellotti pitched a scoreless sixth, walking Vasquez to start the inning and stranding him on third...RHP Joshua Cornielly plunked a batter in the seventh and walked a man in the ninth, but tossed 3.0 spotless frames to earn his league-high-tying sixth save and secure the no-hitter...Retired LF Elio Prado for the final out on a ground ball to SS William Lugo...C Francisco Alvarez caught all 9.0 innings in a Major League rehab appearance, going 1-for-3 at the plate with a single and a walk...RF Stanley Consuegra made a pair of leaping catches in right to preserve the no-hit bid and added an RBI single in the third...DH Jefrey De Los Santos picked up two hits, including a solo home run in the fourth.

 

YOU'LL GET NOTHING AND LIKE IT: RHPs Dakota Hawkins (5.0 IP), Joey Lancellotti (1.0), and Joshua Cornielly (3.0) combined on the first nine-inning no-hitter in Brooklyn Cyclones history in Tuesday's 3-0 win vs. Aberdeen...The only previous no-hitter came on August 23, 2009, when RHP Brandon Moore tossed a seven-inning no-no in a 5-0 win during Game 1 of a doubleheader at Aberdeen...It is just the third no-hitter in Minor League Baseball in 2024...LHP Chayce McDermott, RHP Nolan Hoffman, and RHP Kaleb Ort combined on a 2-0 no-hitter for Baltimore's Triple-A Norfolk on May 3 vs. Nashville...RHP Dylan Cumming, RHP Nick Sinacola, and LHP Seth Corry of San Francisco's High-A Eugene combined on a 4-0 no-no on April 17 vs. Vancouver...Tuesday's effort was the first no-hitter by a Mets minor league affiliate since RHP Joander Suárez hurled a seven-inning one on September 7 at Hartford.

 

SHUT OUT THE LIGHTS: The Cyclones' pitching staff earned its seventh shutout victory in Tuesday's 3-0 no-hit win vs. Aberdeen...On Sunday, Brooklyn earned its sixth of the season in a 7-0 triumph at Jersey Shore...The Cyclones have thrown a season-high 21.1 consecutive scoreless innings since two out in the fifth inning on Saturday and shut out opponents in back-to-back games twice now in 2024...Brooklyn's blanking of the BlueClaws on Sunday marked the team's first shutout since May 4's 4-0 and May 3's 2-0 wins vs. Aberdeen...The seven shutouts are tied for the most in the South Atlantic League and tied for the third-most in Minor League Baseball...In 2023, the Cyclones set a franchise record with 11 shutouts.
