CONEY ISLAND, BROOKLYN, N.Y. (June 24, 2024) — In conjunction with the New York Mets, the Brooklyn Cyclones announced on Monday that the franchise's all-time leader in games played, hits, home runs, and RBI, OF Stanley Consuegra, has been transferred to Double-A Binghamton. In a corresponding move, INF Jesús Báez, the franchise's No. 15 prospect per Baseball America, has been added from Single-A St. Lucie.

Consuegra moves to the Double-A level for the first time after etching his name atop countless spots on the franchise's all-time leaderboard. The 23-year-old holds the Cyclones' record for hits (186), runs scored (111), doubles (40), home runs (35), RBI (121), extra-base hits (81), and outfield assists (19). Consuegra most recently broke UT Jaylen Palmer's franchise record (204) for games played (209) on Wednesday night vs. Jersey Shore.

The Santo Domingo, D.R. native also holds Brooklyn's high water mark in several single-season categories. In 2023, Consuegra set the organization's record for home runs (23) and extra-base hits (42), in addition to matching INF Ronny Mauricio's high for RBI with 63, initially set in 2021.

Báez joins the squad from Single-A St. Lucie and will be the youngest player on the roster at 19 years old, becoming the first player in franchise history born in 2005. In 64 games with the Mets in the Florida State League, the teenager collected a .262 average (66-252) with 25 extra-base hits, 10 home runs, 39 RBI, and eight stolen bases, while accumulating a .782 OPS.

The Santo Domingo, D.R. resident departs the FSL leading the circuit in total bases (112). Báez also ranks second in hits (66), tied for second in home runs (10), RBI (39), extra-base hits (25), fourth in runs scored (40), sixth in slugging (.444), and tied for sixth in doubles (16). He is considered the Mets' No. 15 prospect by Baseball America and No. 22 by MLB Pipeline.
