Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (5-12, 38-45) will try and snap their three-game slide against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (7-9, 38-44) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — at 6:35 p.m. on Wednesday from Judy Johnson Field at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Del.

RHP Kade Morris (2-2, 3.86) — the New York Mets’ No. 23 prospect per Baseball America — is scheduled to take the hill for the Cyclones. The Blue Rocks are projected to counter with RHP José Atencio (1-6, 3.88).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn dropped its third-straight contest, 6-2, on Wednesday night in Wilmington...RHP Jonah Tong tossed another quality start, allowing just one run on three hits over 6.0 innings...The 21-year-old did not issue a walk and whiffed seven...The Blue Rocks pulled away after Tong exited, bringing nine batters to the plate and scoring five runs in the bottom of the seventh...1B Mateo Gil collected a game-high three hits for the Cyclones...DH Kellum Clark added a pair of hits including a double and scoring a run on LF Omar De Los Santos' RBI triple in the ninth...DH T.J. White picked up two hits and two RBI for Wilmington...CF Jeremy De La Rosa added a two-run double to cap the five-run seventh...Blue Rocks RHP Bryan Cáceres tossed 5.0 innings of scoreless ball, scattering six hits, for his third win.

 

THIS DATE IN CYCLONES HISTORY: On July 11, 2004, CF Derran Watts laid down the "Bunt Heard 'Round the Borough" as a bunt single turned into a walk-off Little League home run in the bottom of the 10th inning...Staten Island makes a series of errors that allow Watts to circle the bags in the Cyclones' 3-2 win...In 2013, manager Rich Donnelly earned his 100th win as Cyclones skipper, as Brooklyn won 4-3 at Auburn in Game 2 of a doubleheader...In 2016, C Brandon Brosher blasted two home runs, including a game-tying two-run shot in the ninth...LF Gene Cone's bases-loaded walk in the top of the 11th is the difference in Brooklyn's 6-5 win at Aberdeen...In 2021, Francisco Alvarez and Brett Baty departed the Cyclones to participate in the Sirius/XM All-Star Futures Game at Coors Field in Denver...Alvarez would hit a home run in the contest against future Major League RHP Marcos Diplan.
