PRESS RELEASE: PETE ALONSO NAMED TO NL ALL-STAR TEAM

FLUSHING, N.Y., July 7, 2024 - Major League Baseball tonight announced that first baseman Pete Alonso was named to the 2024 National League All-Star team. The 94th All-Star Game will take place on Tuesday, July 16 in Texas.

Alonso, 29, was named to the All-Star team for the fourth time in his career, the most by any first baseman in team history – one more than Keith Hernandez. Alonso, who was also an All-Star in 2019, 2022 and 2023, becomes the 11th Met to be named to four or more All-Star teams.

Entering Sunday, Alonso ranks sixth in the NL with 18 home runs and tied for eighth with 21 doubles.

Alonso currently ranks fourth on the Mets all-time home run list with 210 homers and seventh on the club's all-time RBI list with 546.
