Today's Game:
1:10 p.m. vs. Houston. Scheduled Pitchers: RHP Tylor Megill, RHP Reed Garrett, LHP Danny Young, RHP Tyler Zuber, RHP Chris Devenski
(SPRING BREAKOUT): Today 5:05 p.m. Mets Prospects at Washington. Mets Starting Pitcher: RHP Jonah Tong.
Bill Madden NY Daily News: Darryl Strawberry a big fan of what Mets are building. “That’s why I really like this team,” Straw said. “They got the three big guys [Juan Soto, Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor] who lead by example just like we had Keith [Hernandez], Gary [Carter] and me in 1986.”
SNY.TV: Mark Vientos looking more and more like Mets' next long-term third baseman. Mark Vientos looking more and more like Mets' next long-term third baseman.'I work my tail off every day because I do want to make that happen'
NY Post: Mets’ Clay Holmes throws 77 pitches as he nears Opening Day start. "For the first time in his new role, the right-hander said he pitched through some fatigue during the latter part of the start, as he got up to 77 pitches, with the goal to be around 90 by the start of the season."
NY Post: Luisangel Acuña has ‘confidence’ he can make next step as he battles for Mets’ roster spot. “The biggest difference for me is my confidence,” Acuña said through an interpreter at Clover Park. “Last year, I didn’t arrive with the same level of confidence. But after getting to know some of them and becoming more familiar with them from last year, I have a different belief in myself, a different confidence.”
NY Post Sports+: Pete Alonso tells The Post one big thing he hopes to improve for Mets in 2025. "Upon reporting to camp this spring, the Mets slugger, who returned to the team on a two-year contract worth $54 million, spoke of his desire to eliminate the miscalculations that led to errors last season. To that end, he plans to take a more conservative approach with throws."
Anthony DiComo Mets.com: If this catcher makes Mets ... will he give up job at Whole Foods? "For the past two years, Hayden Senger has spent his winters stocking shelves at a Whole Foods near his Nashville-area home...what makes Senger’s story unique is not just the fact that he has a second job, nor that he’s spent more than a quarter of his life slogging through the Minors. It’s that Senger, through all of it, suddenly finds himself with a realistic chance at cracking the Major Leagues."
