"No activities for 48-72 hours and then we'll ramp him back up again" pic.twitter.com/ytb1Vzj1dx
"He bought in to that new throwing program... he's becoming a weapon. There's a lot to like about Holmes right now. He's in a good spot, he's recovering well, and he's learning."

"For me, I didn't think it was going to be this quick. He fight right in. As soon as the position players reported within a couple of days you see him laughing, making jokes especially with some of the Latin players"

"He's got a great personality, very humble, cares about people. You've got to give credit to guys in the locker room that made him feel that way as well. Seems like he's been here for quite a bit now and it's only been three weeks or so."

Abbey Mastracco NY Daily News: Mets Notebook: Max Kranick making case for Opening Day roster spot. "Max Kranick might be the best Mets reliever you’ve never heard of...Kranick has yet to allow a run in seven innings of Grapefruit League play. Now 27, Kranick has allowed only four hits and struck out eight hitters, without allowing a walk. It’s a small sample size, but spring training is about small sample sizes. Still, the Mets like what they see from Kranick as a reliever, with a 97-98 MPH fastball and an impressive sweeper."
Jon Heyman NY Post Sports+: Pete Alonso opens up to The Post about ‘liberating’ mindset after Mets contract saga. "He stresses the positives, and he finds plenty, even after a winter that didn’t necessarily go as imagined. He did get $30M for 2025, allowing him to nudge the stagnant first base market forward. He also got the desired opt-out after 2025 in his $54M, two-year deal, and the combination of the high first-year salary and optionality caused him to return to the Mets over the Blue Jays, the other most real alternative."
Tim Healey Newsday: Mets spring training: What are the best/nastiest pitches in camp? "In an informal poll by Newsday, the Mets’ hitters nonetheless collectively came up with answers to the question of which pitch(es) are the nastiest...1. Clay Holmes’ sinker. 2. Kodai Senga’s splitter and Edwin Diaz’s fastball. 3. Clay Holmes’ changeup. 4. Danny Young’s sweeper.
Newsday: Mets first-round pick Carson Benge, newly stronger, ready for first full pro season. "Eight months into his professional baseball career, outfielder Carson Benge boasts an unusual stat line: 15 games, 15 new pounds of muscle...Benge, outwardly proud of getting up to 195 pounds, said he “hit it hard.” In addition to feeling a difference on the field during his first spring training, he sees it in his exit-velocity readings, the measure of how fast baseballs come off his bat."
David Lennon Newsday: David Wright's bond with Michael Cuddyer paved way for Mets stardom. Lennon talks about hos the two players played travel ball together in the Chesapeake region of Virginia. He also shared this about Cuddyer's time with the Mets: “Michael would probably be the first one to tell you that he wished he would have played a little bit better,” Wright said of Cuddyer. “It just goes to show you that I picked a good mentor because he basically lost his job to Conforto and he was Conforto’s biggest fan. He took Conforto out for breakfast every morning, helped him learn different ballparks, the bounces off the walls. It was pretty amazing that he lost his job to this young player but he was there to help him every step of the way.”
