SNY.TV: Juan Soto homers, drives in two as Mets and Cardinals play to tie. "Kodai Senga threw 3.1 innings and allowed seven (!) hits and two runs while striking out one, walking none, and also throwing a wild pitch. He threw 53 pitches, 30 for strikes and 30 of his pitches overall were four-seam fastballs – he said afterward it was a fastball-heavy night as he hones his repertoire during camp."

NY Post: Mets’ Kodai Senga healthy, upbeat after another solid spring outing. "Before the game, Mendoza said the team hadn’t mapped out when Senga would make his first start of the year, as they are more focused on simply getting Senga ready for the year after the debacle of 2024. 'The most important thing is to get through the entire season healthy,' Senga said through an interpreter. 'If I pitch the first game or another game doesn’t make a difference.'”
Tim Healey Newsday: Mets' Brandon Nimmo says old ACL injury behind current knee pain. "Brandon Nimmo revealed Friday that his right knee soreness/pain stems from meniscus and cartilage issues related to his ACL reconstruction 15 years ago.,,Lately, he said, he has run at about 80% of full speed — down from 91% at the start of spring training, when the only concern was returning from plantar fasciitis in his left foot (currently not a problem, Nimmo said)."
Mike Puma NY Post Sports+: Why the Mets’ next prospect wave is providing newfound optimism after dramatic transformation. Mike gives a good breakdown of the current Mets Minor League system noting: "Much of the optimism surrounding the Mets’ farm system revolves around several pitchers who will potentially have an opportunity to help the team this season or next. But as senior vice president of player development Andy Green evaluates the system now compared to when he arrived to the organization about 15 months ago, it’s the depth on the positional side that is noticeable." Tim Healey Newsday: Meet Raimon Gomez, the Mets pitching prospect they hid from other teams. "He is a 23-year-old righthander from Venezuela. He hasn’t pitched in nearly two years because of Tommy John surgery and the ensuing rehabilitation process. Finally healthy, he has team officials abuzz because he once again possesses the fastest fastball in the organization: 100-101 mph regularly, touching 103...because he was eligible for the Rule 5 draft in December...they settled on having Gomez face Mets minor-leaguers behind closed complex doors. No outside eyes..."
NY Post: Inside Mets pursuit of Juan Soto — which began long before slugger’s historic free agency. "Mets president David Stearns was forecasting the Juan Soto signing long before the deal went through in December. Stearns revealed his plans in the first half of “The Pursuit,” a two-part documentary released by the Mets organization detailing the acquisition of Soto in free agency, along with the team’s turnaround during the 2024 season. The first part releases Friday on the Mets’ YouTube channel.
