The Brooklyn Cyclones (9-4) will try and secure a series victory against the Aberdeen IronBirds (6-7) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. from Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, Md.
RHP Paul Blackburn (NR) is expected to make a Major League rehab start for the Cyclones this evening. The IronBirds are projected to counter with the Orioles’ No. 11 prospect per MLB Pipeline, RHP Nestor German (0-0, 5.40).

BACK IN BLACK-BURN: RHP Paul Blackburn joins the Cyclones on a Major League rehab assignment and is scheduled to start Saturday evening's contest in Aberdeen...New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza stated Thursday that Blackburn is slated to throw 2 innings...The 31-year-old was placed on the Mets' 15-day injured list on March 27 (retro March 24) with right knee inflammation...Blackburn was acquired by New York from the Oakland Athletics on July 30, 2024, in exchange for RHP Kade Morris...Morris was a member of Brooklyn's rotation at the time of the trade...Blackburn was named an American League All-Star with the A's in 2022...In 86 MLB appearances (82 starts) with the A's and Mets, the California native has tallied a 22-28 record with a 4.85 ERA (231 ER in 428.1 IP), 17.8% strikeout rate, and a 7.1% walk rate...Saturday's originally scheduled starter, RHP R.J.
