The Brooklyn Cyclones (12-6) will try and make it three-straight victories against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (6-12) — the High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies — on Friday at 6:35 p.m. from ShoreTown Ballpark in Lakewood, N.J.
RHP R.J. Gordon (1-0, 3.09) is scheduled to make his third start of the season for the Cyclones. The BlueClaws are projected to counter with RHP Aaron Combs (0-1, 7.00).

ELI'S ELITE NIGHT: OF Eli Serrano III put together his best game as a professional in Thursday night's win at Jersey Shore...The 21-year-old went 5-for-6 at the plate, scored 3 runs, doubled twice, blasted a solo home run in the 8th, and drove in 3...Since 2005, Serrano is the 1st Cyclone to record 5+ hits, 3+ runs, 3+ extra-base hits, a home run, and 3+ RBI in a single game...He is only the 2nd Brooklyn player to record 5-or-more hits, hit a home run, and drive in 3-or-more runs in a single game since 2005...2B Luke Ritter also accomplished the feat with 5 hits, a home run, and 3 RBI in a 5-4 win vs. Lowell in 11 innings on June 28, 2019...Ritter's home run was a game-tying blast in the 9th...Serrano is also the 2nd Cyclone to tally a 5-hit game at the High-A level and 9th overall since 2005...LF Alex RamÃrez was the last player to accomplish the feat with a franchise-record 6 hits on July 21, 2023, at Hudson Valley....Entering Friday, Serrano is tied for 7th in the South Atlantic League in walks (13), tied for 8th in total bases (28), and 10th in slugging percentage (.491).
BORN TO RUNS: The Cyclones tallied 12 runs and 17 hits en route to a 12-5 win at Jersey Shore on Thursday...It marked the 2nd time this season in which Brooklyn collected 12 or more runs and 17 or more hits in a single game...The Cyclones accrued 15 runs and 20 hits in a 15-1 win vs. Wilmington on April 5...Thursday marked the 6th time Brooklyn had tallied 12-plus runs and 17-plus hits in a single game since moving to the High-A level before the 2021 season...It is also the first time since 2021 that the Cyclones have had multiple games with 12+ runs and 17+ hits in the same season.
CALIFORNIA LOVE: UTL D'Andre Smith is off to a marvelous start in 2025...The Diamond Bar, Calif. native is currently riding a 5-game hitting streak, going 8-for-17 (.471) at the plate with 5 runs scored, 3 doubles, a home run, 3 RBI, 2 walks, and a stolen base...Smith enters play on Friday ranked 7th in the South Atlantic League in batting average (.317), 9th in OPS (.908), and 10th in on-base percentage (.420).
