Mets: 

• The Mets defeated the Phillies, 5-1, in the second game of their three-game set against Philadelphia...They have won six straight games after dropping back-to-back games for their first time this season (April 15-16 at MIN)...It is the second time this season the Mets have won six straight games (also: 4/2 - 4/8)...The Mets are the only team to win six straight games on multiple occasions this season...The Amazins’ improve to 6-2 against division
• opponents.
• The Mets improve their record at home to 11-1, which is tied with the 2015 team for the best home start in franchise history.
• Mets pitchers have recorded a 2.08 ERA at home this year which is the best mark through 12 home games in Citi Field history and the fifth-best such
• mark in franchise history.
• With the win the Mets secured their fourth series victory at home this season and their last series lost at home was on August 13-15, 2024 against the Athletics...They have now won their last 10 series at Citi Field dating back to last season.
• Mets starting pitchers have not allowed a home run in 11 consecutive games,
• which is tied for the fifth-longest such streak in franchise history (14G from
• 6/18 - 7/8/74, 13G from 8/26 - 9/16/88, 12G from 6/18 - 7/5/88 and 12G from
• 5/26 - 6/22/85).

Griffin Canning: 

• Gave up one run, seven hits, one walk, and struck out five over 5.0 innings...He is now 3-1 with a 3.12 ERA (9 ER/26.0 IP) through his first five starts with the Mets...It is his lowest ERA through his first five starts of a season in his career...The Mets are the only team in the majors so far this season to have three pitchers with three wins (also: Tylor Megill and Kodai Senga).
• In his four career starts at Citi Field he has a 2-0 record with a 1.64 ERA (4 ER/22.0 IP) and 28 strikeouts...His ERA at Citi Field is tied his lowest at any stadium in the majors that he has started more than one game at (also: T-Mobile Park).

Francisco Lindor (3-5, RBI, R): 

• Singled to lead off the first inning...He is now batting .500 (11-22) with six extra-base hits as the first batter of the game...Leads the majors in hits and extra-base hits as the first batter of the game...Hit an RBI single in the second inning to give the Mets a 2-1 lead...He now has an RBI in three consecutive games for the first time this season...In his last three games, he is 8-13 with three home runs and six RBI.
• Picked up his fourth three-hit game of the season, tied for the second-most such games this season...Has reached base three times in each of his last three games.

Mark Vientos (1-3, 2B, RBI, R): 

• Hit an RBI double down the left field line in the first inning to give the Mets a 1-0 lead...Has six RBI, one home run and three doubles in his last seven games...Had just two extra-base hits and one RBI in his first 14 games of the season.

Luisangel Acuña (0-3, BB): 

• Walked in the second inning to extend his career-high on-base streak to 11 games (since 4/7).

Pete Alonso (2-3, 2B, RBI, R, HBP): 

• Singled in the third inning to extend his
• hitting streak to five games...Hit his 10th double of the season, an RBI shot
• to left field...He is one of eight players in franchise history to record as many doubles through the team’s first 24 games of a season...Has recorded 17 extra-base hits on the season (10 doubles, one triple, six home runs), joining Carlos Beltrán for the most extra-base hits through 24 games in franchise history.

Luis Torrens (1-4, 2 RBI): 

• Lined a two-run single to left field in the seventh inning to increase the Mets lead to 5-1...Was his 24th career game with multiple RBI and his third this season.

1962	In the team's tenth attempt, the Mets win their first game in franchise history, defeating the Pirates at Forbes Field, 9-1. Jay Hook's five-hit complete-game victory snaps Pittsburgh's record-tying winning streak of 10 games from the start of the season without a loss.
2006	Keith Hernandez is reprimanded by Sportsnet New York, the Mets' television network, for comments made last night about the female in full uniform sitting in the Padres dugout. Spotting Kelly Calabrese, the Padres' full-time massage therapist, the Mets broadcaster remarked women "don't belong in the dugout" and apologized for his insensitive comments during the telecast.

Baseball Reference:

2010: The Mets beat the Braves, 5 - 2, as Ike Davis hits his first major league home run. There is an unusual play in the 7th inning: with the Mets leading 3 - 2 with two runners on base, Jose Reyes hits a high pop-up and the umpires invoke the infield fly rule. But 3B Chipper Jones crosses in front of SS Omar Infante in the windy conditions, and the ball glances off his glove and falls to the ground. C Brian McCann picks up the ball, and not realizing that Reyes is out automatically, goes after him. He relays the ball to 1B Eric Hinske, who tags both Reyes and the bag to no avail. While the Braves are busy flogging a dead horse, Angel Pagan races around the diamond for the Mets' fourth run. Nippon Pro Baseball veteran Hisanori Takahashi replaces starter John Maine, who has to leave in the 4th inning with pain in his left elbow; he strikes out seven in three innings to pick up his first major league win.

2015: The Mets tie a team record with their 11th straight win, 6 - 3 over the Braves. Daniel Murphy drives in 4 runs as Bartolo Colon is the winner over Julio Teheran.

2019 - Zack Wheeler has a career night for the Mets against the Phillies, as he gives up no runs on 5 hits in 7 innings while striking out 11, and also contributes at the plate with a double and his first career homer. New York wins handily, 9 - 0.
