The Brooklyn Cyclones (29-13) go for a series victory against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (15-26) — the High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies — on Saturday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. from ShoreTown Ballpark in Lakewood, N.J.

 

RHP Frankie Montas (NR) is scheduled to make his New York Mets organizational debut in a Major League rehab start for the Cyclones. The BlueClaws are projected to counter with RHP Estibenzon Jiménez (4-1, 5.26)

FRANKIES 457: RHP Frankie Montas will make a Major League rehab start for the Cyclones on Saturday at Jersey Shore...Saturday's originally scheduled starter, RHP Noah Hall, is slated to follow him in relief...Montas will make his New York Mets' organizational debut in the contest, as he has not pitched in an official game this year...The 32-year-old was placed on New York's 15-day injured list on March 27 (retro 3/24) with a right lat strain...He was transferred to the 60-day IL on May 1...Montas signed a 2-year, $34 million deal with the Mets on December 4, 2024...The right-hander split the 2024 season between the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers, posting a 7-11 record with a 4.84 ERA (81 ER in 150.2 IP), 66 walks, and 148 strikeouts...Montas has a career 44-46 mark with a 4.09 ERA (338 ER in 744.1 IP) and 760 K's over 160 career appearances and 129 starts.
