The Brooklyn Cyclones (31-15) continue a six-game homestand against the Aberdeen IronBirds (19-27) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — on Wednesday morning at 11 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.

 

RHP R.J. Gordon (4-0, 2.48) is scheduled to start the lid-lifter for the Cyclones. The IronBirds are projected to counter with RHP Blake Money (2-3 2.89).

THE NUMBER ONE SPOT: The Cyclones are mired in a 3-team race for the South Atlantic League First Half North Division crown...Entering play on Wednesday, Brooklyn is 1.5 games back of first-place Greensboro (32-13) and 1.5 games up on third-place Hudson Valley (29-16) with 20 games remaining in the first half...Brooklyn does not play Hudson Valley or Greensboro for the remainder of the half...Greensboro has played one series (April 15-20 vs. Jersey Shore) against a North Division foe and will not play another until the second half (July 1-6 vs./at Aberdeen).

 

HOME COOKING: Brooklyn continued their dominance at Maimonides Park on Tuesday with a 2-0 victory vs. Aberdeen...The triumph was the Cyclones' 8th-consecutive home win...Entering play on Wednesday, Brooklyn holds the best home record in the South Atlantic League at 17-5 (.772)...No one else in the league has more than 14 home victories (Greensboro and Hudson Valley)...The 17 home wins are tied with Detroit's High-A West Michigan for the most at the High-A level...Miami's Triple-A Jacksonville has recorded the most home wins in Minor League Baseball (21).
