The Brooklyn Cyclones (16-8) will try and secure a series victory against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (8-17) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.
LHP Jonathan Santucci (0-3, 9.00) — the New York Mets’ No. 12 prospect per MLB Pipeline — is scheduled to make the start for the Cyclones. The Blue Rocks are projected to counter with the Nationals’ No. 5 farmhand per MLB Pipeline, LHP Alex Clemmey (0-2, 6.00).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn surged back into the win column with a 3-2 victory over the Blue Rocks on Friday night to capture 3 of the first 4 games of the series...The low-scoring affair saw Major League rehabber RHP Paul Blackburn make the start for the 'Clones...Blackburn was dominant through his first 2.0 innings, striking out 5 batters, but did allow a pair of runs to score in the 3rd...Brooklyn's bullpen took the baton the rest of the way, with 4.1 innings of scoreless relief from RHP R.J. Gordon, and a 5-out save from RHP Anthony Nunez, the first of his pro career...Offensively, CF A.J. NUNEZ IS NAILS: RHP Anthony Nunez collected a 5-out save on Friday, the 1st of his career, to continue his marvelous start to the new year...The righty has yet to allow an earned run through his first 8 appearances of the season...The University of Tampa product did not surrender a mere base hit until his 7th appearance of the year...Among players in the South Atlantic with at least 12.0 IP, Nunez is tied for the league lead in ERA (0.00)...He is 1 of 3 players to not allow an earned run (Aberdeen's RHP Braxton Bragg & Hub City's LHP Larson Kindreich...Nunez's 0.41 WHIP leads the league amongst those with 12.0 IP, and is tops in all of High-A...Nunez's 0.41 WHIP is also the 2nd-lowest in Minor League Baseball among arms with 12.0 or more innings...Only Boston's High-A Greenville's LHP Brandon Clarke (0.35) has a lower mark...Nunez's .029 batting average against (1-35) is the lowest mark in MiLB.
