The Brooklyn Cyclones (18-9) continue their six-game series against the Asheville Tourists (12-16) — the High-A affiliate of the Houston Astros — on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. from McCormick Field in Asheville, N.C.

 

RHP Brendan Girton (1-1, 4.50) is expected to make the start for the Cyclones. The Tourists are projected to counter with the Astros’ No. 6 prospect per MLB Pipeline, RHP Anderson Brito (0-0, 3.07).

LAST TIME OUT: The Cyclones earned their 2nd-straight victory with a 5-4 win at Asheville on Tuesday night...RHP Saúl García entered with the tying run at 2nd and 1 out in the 9th and struck out both batters he faced to secure his 2nd save...RHP Anthony Nunez earned his 1st professional victory, retiring all 5 batters he faced, striking out 4...RHP Joel Díaz took a no-decision after allowing only 1 run on 3 hits over 4.2 innings...He did not issue a walk and struck out a season-high-tying 6, retiring the final 9 batters he faced...LF Carson Benge drove in the Cyclones' first 2 runs on a solo home run to right in the 2nd and a RBI single to left in the 3rd...RF Eli Serrano III delivered a 2-run double in the 7th as part of a 2-hit night...2B Marco Vargas collected 2 hits and an RBI, while 3B Jacob Reimer added 2 hits of his own.
