- Mets: Dropped the first game of their nine-game homestand, 7-5...The Mets’ nine pitchers used were their most in a game since September 30, 2017 vs. Philadelphia...Was the 11th time in franchise history the Mets have used nine or more pitchers in a game...Was their most innings played in a game since their 2-1 loss in 14 innings on August 23, 2019 vs. Atlanta...The game time of 4:08 was their longest since August 21, 2022 at Philadelphia (4:26).
- Brett Baty: Launched a solo homer in the third to put the Mets on the board.
- Jeff McNeil: Hit a two-run triple in the ninth inning to cut the Mets deficit to 5-4.
- Tyrone Taylor: Hit a game-tying RBI single in the ninth inning...Also extended his hitting streak to six games with a single in the fifth inning and is hitting .381 (8-21) with two doubles and two RBI in that span.

Hawk Taylor hit 2 home runs and drove in 4 and Charley Smith cleared the bags with a bases loaded double as the Mets built a 7-0 lead. Tim McCarver's 2-run homer in the 8th made it 7-2. Cards then scored 5 in the 9th to send it into extras. Bill White doubled home Curt Flood in the 12th as St. Louis walked it off.

A see-saw game that was all tied at 4 in the 8th. Mets reliever Jerry Hinsley walked Mets pitcher Ron Locke was brought in came in and committed another throwing error to score another and two more on an RBI single. Ron Hunt 3 for 5 with a triple and an RBI and Jesse Gonder, 3 for 4 with an RBI, led the Mets offense.

Don Drysdale held the Mets to just 4 hits but Roger Craig matched him into the 8th. With the game tied at 1, the Dodgers loaded the bases and pushed the winning runs across on a sac fly and a ground out.
