In this role, Sherr will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the New York Mets, overseeing the Senior Leadership Team for all Front Office functions except Baseball Operations. Reporting to Mets Owner, Chairman and CEO Steve Cohen, Sherr will be instrumental in shaping the future of the franchise, driving financial success, and continuing to build on the Mets reputation as a beloved institution in New York. Sherr will join the organization in July.
"Lew shares my vision for creating an exceptional fan experience at Citi Field and making the Mets an even greater part of New York's cultural fabric," said Cohen. "I am confident that Lew's extensive experience and track record of success in driving growth and innovation at organizations across sports, entertainment and media will make him a great addition to our leadership team."

Sherr was also instrumental in securing a significant media rights agreement with ESPN valued at $2 billion and spearheaded plans for an ambitious $800 million renovation of Arthur Ashe Stadium, further bolstering the event's long-term viability.
Prior to his time at USTA, Sherr served as Senior Vice President of Marketing Partnerships for Madison Square Garden where he directed all sponsorship activities, first for the Sports and subsequently for the Entertainment divisions. He also held senior positions at Time Warner and Clear Channel. He began his professional career at Wilson Sporting Goods and led the company's golf business in Japan.
Sherr is a graduate of Duke University where he received a BA in public policy and an MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business.
