The New York Mets have announced the following Roster Moves:
New York Mets optioned RHP Justin Garza to Syracuse Mets.
New York Mets recalled RHP Ty Adcock from Syracuse Mets.
The move gives the Mets a fresh arm in the pen. Justin Garza appeared in 3 games with the Mets since being obtained from the San Francisco Giants. He did not allow a run in 3,2 innings, 4 hits, no walks, 2 Ks.
For Ty Adcock, this is his second stint with the Mets. He pitched for the Mets in one game, May 1st, a 4-2 loss to Arizona. In that game he faced 4 batters without being charged a run. He came in with 2 out in the 9th with no one on base and proceeded to allow a single, walk and catcher's interference which loaded the bases before getting a popfly to end the inning.
He has been a very dependable relief pitcher in Syracuse this year. In his last outing, Wednesday June 11th, Ty pitched a scoreless inning facing the minimum.
This year in Syracuse Ty is 1-2 with 2 Saves and a 4.50 ERA, 18 games, 22 innings, 14 hits, 7 walks, 21 strikeouts, 0.955 WHIP.
His two Syracuse losses and 4.50 ERA were the result of two bad outings where he allowed 6 runs, 4 earned, against Rochester on May 25th and another where he allowed 4 runs, 3 earned against Buffalo on June 8th. Both outings were in extra innings.
