Mets:
- The Mets fell to the Braves 3-2, in the opening game of their four-game set...The Mets are now 0-4 against the Braves this season and they are 10-27 against the Braves dating back to August 15, 2022...It was just the third time the Mets have lost a series opener through 13 home series openers this season...It is their fourth straight loss at home which is their longest losing streak at home this season and it marks the first time they have lost four straight home games since 6/1-6/11/24...They are still 27-11 (.711) at home this season which is the best mark in the majors and is tied for the best home start in franchise history with the ‘21, ‘15, ‘10, ‘88, and ‘86 teams.
- Are 35-20 against National League teams and 13-10 against the NL East this season.
Paul Blackburn (4.2 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, HR, WP, HP):
- He tossed 4.2 innings and allowed six hits, three earned runs, and issued a season-high three walks...It marks the first time he has walked three or more batters since May 10, 2024 at Seattle while with the Athletics...His five strikeouts were a season-high and it was the first time he had as many strikeouts in a game since August 7, 2024 at Colorado.
- Since joining the Mets last season, he has made eight starts and he has allowed three or fewer earned runs in six of those eight starts...Including all three of his starts this season.
José Buttó (1.1 IP, K):
- Entered in the fifth inning with two runners on and stranded them both...Over his last 11 games he has inherited 16 runners and stranded 14 of them...He hasn’t allowed an earned run in each of his last nine appearances and he extended his current scoreless inning streak to 9.2 dating back to June 7.
- He has recorded four or more outs in 17 of his appearances this season, which is the most among Major League relievers and 13 of those outings have been scoreless which is tied for the most such games in the majors.
Brett Baty (2-3):
- He singled in the third and the sixth inning...It marks his 10th multi-hit game of the season and his first since May 27 vs. Chicago-AL.
Juan Soto (1-4, HR, 2 RBI, R):
- Blasted a two-run homer to left center field in the sixth to cut the Mets’ deficit to 3-2...It was his third home run and sixth RBI in his last three games...In 21 games during the month of June he is slashing .324/.484/.704 with 19 runs, three doubles, eight home runs, 16 RBI, 21 walks and one steal...During that span he has a .484 OBP which third-best in the majors and a .704 SLG which is tied for the sixth-best in the majors (min 50 PA).
Francisco Lindor (2-4):
- Singled in the third and eighth inning marking his third consecutive game with multiple hits...It is the second time he has done so this season and the 28th time in his career he has recorded two or more hits in three straight games.
Brandon Nimmo (1-3, BB, R):
- Singled to right field in the eighth inning to extend his hitting streak to six games...He is batting .429 (9-21) with three runs, two doubles, two homers, three walks and a 1.310 OPS over that span.
Edwin DÃaz (1.0 IP, 2 H, 2 K):
- Struck out Marcell Ozuna and Ozzie Albies in the ninth inning to record his 484th and 485th strikeout with the Mets...With those strikeouts he passed Jeurys Familia (484) for the fourth-most strikeouts by a reliever in Mets franchise history.
