The Brooklyn Cyclones (35-15) go for a series sweep against the Aberdeen IronBirds (19-31) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.
RHP Joel DÃaz (1-2, 4.11) is expected to make the start for the Cyclones. The IronBirds are projected to counter with the Orioles’ No. 15 prospect per MLB Pipeline, RHP Trey Gibson (1-2, 5.51).

LAST TIME OUT: The Cyclones captured their 12th-straight home win on Saturday night in thrilling fashion, walking off the IronBirds, 5-4, on a game-winning solo shot from C Ronald Hernandez...Brooklyn erased a 4-2 deficit by tying the game in the 8th on an RBI single from RF Jefrey De Los Santos and a sac fly from 2B Jesus Baez, setting the scene for the walk-off in the 9th... RHP Noah Hall excelled yet again at Maimonides Park. The righty spun 4.0 scoreless frames, allowing only 1 base hit...RHPs Brian Metoyer and Alfred Vega contributed scoreless relief efforts, with Vega earning his third victory of the season...Brooklyn stole 7 bases in the win.
HERNANDEZ' HEROICS: C Ronald Hernandez sent the Brooklyn faithful home happy on Saturday night against Aberdeen with a walk-off solo home run with one out in the bottom of the ninth, giving the Cyclones their 5th-straight win...It’s Brooklyn’s first walk-off home run since July 28th of last year, when LF Omar De Los Santos walked off the Rome Emperors...It’s also the Cyclones’ 3rd walk-off victory this season - and the second time that Hernandez has provided the walk-off heroics...On May 18 against Winston-Salem, the Venezuela native hit a game-ending fielder’s choice to walk off the Dash...The solo shot marked the 14th walk-off home run in franchise history, and 3rd since the start of the 2024 campaign.
PICTURE PERFECT 'PEN: Brooklyn's bullpen has been untouchable this week against the IronBirds...Coming into play on Sunday, Cyclones relievers have given up only 4 earned runs, and had not surrendered any runs at all until Saturday night...Brooklyn relievers are also a perfect 5-0 during the current homestand...The 'Clones 3.37 ERA is 2nd in the South Atlantic League behind only Hudson Valley (2.50)...The 'pen went from the bottom of the 6th in the 2nd game of Sunday's doubleheader at Jersey Shore, all the way to the top of the fifth on Saturday without giving up a run...Cyclones relievers have snatched an impressive 301-to-122 strikeout-to-walk ratio on the year, while sporting a 1.19 WHIP.
