Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (38-16) continue a six-game road trip against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (22-32) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — on Friday evening at 6:35 p.m. from Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Del.

 

LHP Sean Manaea (NR) is scheduled to make a Major League rehab start for the Cyclones while coming back from a right oblique strain. The Blue Rocks are projected to counter with the Nationals’ top prospect per MLB Pipeline, RHP Travis Sykora (0-0, 0.00).

 

Live coverage on the Cyclones Radio Network, Bally Sports Live, and MiLB.tv will begin at 6:20 p.m.

 

LAST TIME OUT: The Cyclones outlasted the Blue Rocks, 1-0, on Thursday night at Frawley Stadium...Brooklyn produced the game's only run with 2 out rally in the 6th...CF Carson Benge doubled to left and scored on 3B Jesús Báez's single to center...RHP Nate Dohm tossed 5.0 innings of 2-hit shutout ball, earning his 1st win with the Cyclones...The 22-year-old walked 1 and struck out 6...RHP Noah Hall piggybacked off his effort and tossed 4.0 frames of scoreless 1-hit ball for his 1st professional save...He walked 3 and punched out 6, recording an immaculate inning in the 7th.

 

THE NUMBER ONE SPOT: The Cyclones are mired in a 3-team race for the South Atlantic League First Half North Division crown...Entering play on Thursday, Brooklyn holds a 2.5-game lead on Greensboro for 1st place in the division...The Cyclones are 4.5 games up on 3rd-place Hudson Valley with 12 games remaining in the first half...Brooklyn's magic number to clinch the first half division crown is 11...Any Cyclones wins or Grasshoppers losses will decrease the number...Brooklyn does not play Hudson Valley or Greensboro for the remainder of the half...Greensboro has played one series (April 15-20 vs. Jersey Shore) against a North Division foe and will not play another until the second half (July 1-6 vs./at Aberdeen).


THE MANAEALATOR: LHP Sean Manaea joins the Cyclones on Friday for his first Major League rehab start...The 33-year-old has been on the New York Mets' injured list since March 27 with a right oblique strain...Manaea was transferred to the 60-day IL on April 29...Manaea re-signed with the Mets on a 3-year, $75 million deal on December 27, 2024...In 2024, the Indiana State alum posted a 12-6 record with a 3.47 ERA (70 ER in 181.2 IP), 63 walks, and 184 strikeouts...Manaea set career highs in innings (181.2) and tied career bests in wins (12) and starts (32)...The southpaw made his professional debut with the Wilmington Blue Rocks in 2014 and made 29 starts for the club between 2014 and 2015...Manaea went 8-8 with a 3.18 ERA (50 ER in 141.1 IP), 58 walks, and 168 strikeouts in those 29 starts.

 

NOAH'S ARC: After being limited to just 13.0 innings in his first professional season in 2024, RHP Noah Hall has found a new gear in 2025...The 24-year-old registered his 1st pro save on Thursday night at Wilmington, tossing 4.0 innings of 1-hit shutout ball...The save was Hall's first since April 30, 2021, vs. the University of Louisiana at Monroe, while pitching for Appalachian State University...Entering play on Friday, the Charlotte, N.C. native is 3rd in the South Atlantic League in ERA (2.42), tied for 5th in batting average against (.194), and 6th in innings pitched (52.0).
