NY Post: J.D. Martinez's two homers lead suddenly hot Mets to fourth straight win “Martinez continued his recent offensive binge with two more home runs Saturday to support one of Jose Quintana’s finest starts of the season in a 5-1 win over the Padres at Citi Field. Carlos Mendoza’s team suddenly has won four in a row — and 10 of its past 14 games since a players-only meeting in late May.”
Brian Heyman Newsday: Mets' J.D. Martinez homers twice, Jose Quintana and bullpen combine on two-hitter in win over Padres. "Quintana arrived at 1-5 with a 5.29 ERA across 13 starts. The 35-year-old lefthander’s previous start lasted 3 2⁄3 innings, and the one before that lasted four. This one was a vast improvement. He fanned a season-high six and walked two. Mendoza liked his pitch sequencing and Quintana felt he was reading swings better."

NY Post: Mets look all out of sorts in lopsided loss to Brewers as NL East race tightens. "The Mets made Pete Alonso chase three misthrown balls that should have been headed for his glove, repeatedly missed locations on pitches and endured one of their worst innings of the season in a 10-2 loss to the Brewers at Citi Field in front of 25,422 fans who had little to applaud."
Metstradamus: At Their Own Game. "The Mets got got by many of the hallmarks that have defined their success their season. The Brewers scored two first inning runs off of David Peterson, which is something the Mets usually do to teams."
Brian Joura Mets360.com: "Meanwhile, the Mets didn’t do a ton of damage against reigning Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes, as they managed just two runs. Jeff McNeil hit a solo shot in the fourth inning and he singled home Brandon Nimmo, who tripled, in the sixth."
Tim Healey Newsday: David Peterson, Jake Reed ineffective as Mets are blown out by Brewers. "The Mets (41-23) have suffered blowout losses in four of their past seven games. Their lead in the NL East has shriveled to four games from 10 1⁄2 games at the start of the month. Second-place Atlanta has won 14 consecutive contests."

Baseball Reference: The Mets snap the Blue Jays' 11-game winning streak with a two-run rally in the bottom of the 11th that gives them a 4 - 3 win. Jose Bautista homers twice for Toronto, including a game-tying shot in the top of the 9th, and the Jays take the lead on Dioner Navarro's sacrifice fly in the 11th, but RBI singles by Lucas Duda and Wilmer Flores in the bottom of the inning give the game to the Mets.
NY Post: "Syndergaard, who was traded from the Blue Jays to the Mets as part of the R.A. Dickey deal following the 2012 season, put his team in position for the victory by allowing two hits over six innings in which he allowed a run, with a career-high 11 strikeouts. The right-hander also walked two batters and departed after 109 pitches."
