Mets tied the game in the 9th on an Ike Davis double but Russell Martin hit his 2nd HR of the game in the bottom of the 9th for the Yankee win.

In the nightcap, the Mets led 4-1 going to the 9th, but Erie Banks hit a 3 run HR to tie it off Craig Anderson to send the game to extras. Ken MacKenzie gave up two doubles and the Mets fell to 15 and 38 in their inaugural season.
