OVER 40 METS LEGENDS RETURNING TO CITI FIELD FOR AN ALUMNI CLASSIC GAME

 

THREE-INNING GAME WILL TAKE PLACE PRIOR TO METS GAME ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 VS. TEXAS

 

 

FLUSHING, N.Y., June 5, 2025 – The New York Mets today announced that over 40 former players and managers will return to Citi Field on Saturday, September 13 for an Alumni Classic Game. The three-inning contest will take place prior to the 4:10 p.m. game vs. the Texas Rangers. The rosters will be comprised of Amazin' legends from the last decade of Shea Stadium and the first decade from Citi Field.

 

Baseball Hall of Famers Mike Piazza, Pedro Martínez and Billy Wagner will be in attendance. The Shea Stadium team will be co-managed by Willie Randolph and Bobby Valentine while the Citi Field squad will be co-managed by Terry Collins and Jerry Manuel.

 

The Shea Stadium roster will consist of Mets Hall of Famers John Franco, Al Leiter, Edgardo Alfonzo and Piazza along with Carlos Beltrán, Carlos Delgado, Robin Ventura and Cliff Floyd among others.

 

Curtis Granderson, Ike Davis, Bartolo Colón, R.A. Dickey, Johan Santana, Matt Harvey and Noah Syndergaard and others will play for the Citi Field squad.

 

Mets Hall of Famers Darryl Strawberry and Mookie Wilson will serve as Ambassadors for the Alumni Classic.
