Here are today's Syracuse Mets Game Notes:
The Syracuse Mets continue a six-game series against the Buffalo Bisons tonight at NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse, NY with the second game. RHP Blade Tidwell is scheduled to start on the mound for the Mets opposite Bisons RHP Lazaro Estrada.

A Tale of Two Halves: Syracuse is outscoring its opponents by 60 runs in the first four innings of games, 169-109. But the Mets are being outscored by 88 runs from the fifth inning on, including extra innings, 196-108.
Snipers: Syracuse’s catchers rank second in the International League, throwing attempted base stealers out 30.9% of the time. Louisville leads the league at 32.6%. Among catchers with at least ten stolen base attempts against them, Hayden Senger ranks first in the league with a 46.2% success rate
throwing runners out.
Turnaround: From the start of the season to May 26th, Syracuse ranked 19th in the International League with a .238 batting average with runners in scoring position. The Mets were 15th, hitting .230 with runners and scoring position and two outs. Since May 27th though, in seven games, Syracuse is 25-for-66 (.379) with runners in scoring position and 12-for-34 (.353) with runners in scoring position and two outs. For the entire season, Syracuse is hitting .257 with runners in scoring position this season which ranks 11th in the International League. Syracuse is hitting .251 with runners in scoring position and two outs, ranking sixth.
Disciplined Eye: Drew Gilbert’s has reached base in 34 of his last 36 games and a lot of that has to do with his plate discipline. Gilbert is swinging at pitches out of the zone 23.3% of the time this season compared to 27.3% last year. Gilbert swings and misses pitches in the strike zone less than anyone else on the team, swinging and missing on just 6.9% of pitches in the zone instead of 11.5% like last year.
Don’t Need Many: Syracuse is winning 61% of its games when scoring at least three runs in a game, going 25-16. The Mets are 20-6 when scoring at least five runs.
Streaking: Gilberto Celestino has hits in 17 of his last 19 games, going 26-for-74 (.351) during this stretch with five RBIs, a home run, five doubles, a triple, eight walks, and 14 strikeouts.
Heating Up: Luis De Los Santos has reached base in 20 of his last 23 games with hits in 19 of those games, going 28-for-88 (.318) over this stretch with 17 RBIs, two home runs, six doubles, 11 runs, and 17 strikeouts.
Power Surge: After going 36 games without a home run to start the season, Joey Meneses has home runs in three of his last 15 games, going 17-for-51 (.333) with three home runs, six doubles, nine RBIs, and five walks.
League Leaders: Joey Meneses leads the International League with 22 doubles and is tied for second with 26 extra-base hits. Jon Singleton is tied for ninth with ten home runs, tied for 11th with 36 RBIs, and is tied for fifth with 34 walks. In the minors, Singleton has 807 career walks and 1,004 career minor league hits.
