Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (12-15, 58-35) continue a nine-game road trip and a six-game series against the Greensboro Grasshoppers (20-7, 65-27) — the High-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates — on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. from First National Bank Field in Greensboro, N.C.

 

RHP Will Watson (0-2, 2.29), the New York Mets’ No. 17 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is expected to make the start for the Cyclones. The Grasshoppers are projected to counter with RHP Hung-Leng Chang (5-4, 5.30).

THIS DATE IN CYCLONES HISTORY: On July 25, 2005, Brooklyn scored 3 runs in the top of the 11th, taking the lead on a 2B Armand Gaerlan RBI single in a 5-2 win at Batavia...In 2009, LF Nick Santomauro clubbed a game-tying home run in the 6th and DH Ralph Henriquez provided the go-ahead RBI double in the 7th in a 5-4 win vs. Staten Island...In 2011, the Cyclones broke a 4-all tie with a 5-run top of the 9th, taking the lead on a CF Travis Taijeron grand slam, during a 9-5 win at State College...In 2012, Brooklyn erased a 2-run deficit in the 6th with back-to-back home runs, a game-tying 2-run shot by 3B Alex Sanchez and a go-ahead solo blast by LF Stefan Sabol in a 3-2 victory at Batavia...In 2021, 2B Luis González smacked a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 9th to beat Wilmington, 5-4.
