The Brooklyn Cyclones (13-18, 59-38) continue a six-game homestand against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (15-15, 40-53) — the High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies — on Wednesday evening at 6:40 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.

 

RHP Joel Díaz (4-3, 3.80) is expected to make the start for the Cyclones. The BlueClaws are projected to counter with the Phillies No. 20 prospect per MLB Pipeline, RHP Alex McFarlane (2-8, 5.10).

THIS DATE IN CYCLONES HISTORY: On July 30, 2006, Brooklyn swept a doubleheader in Aberdeen, winning both games 3-0...RHP Nelson Portillo (6.0 IP, 5 H) and RHP Joe Smith (1.0, 1) combined on a 6-hitter in the opener and RHP Jonathan Castillo (4.0, 3), RHP Jeremy Mizell (2.0, 1), and RHP José De La Torre (1.0, 0) twirled a 4-hit shutout in the nightcap...In 2012, CF Brandon Nimmo went 3-for-5 with 2 runs scored, 2 doubles, and an RBI in a 5-1 win at Mahoning Valley...RHP Rainy Lara earned the win, striking out 10 over 7.0 innings, becoming the 3rd pitcher in franchise history to record multiple 10+ strikeout contests in a single season...In 2014, LF Michael Conforto went 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored, 2 RBI, a walk, and a steal in a 9-4 win vs. Auburn...In 2024, a pair of active Cyclones were traded at the deadline when RHP Kade Morris was dealt to the Athletics for RHP Paul Blackburn, and INF Wilfredo Lara was sent to the Miami Marlins for RHP Huascar Brazobán.
