Brooklyn Cyclones Game Notes - 7/31/2025

Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (13-19, 59-39) continue a six-game homestand against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (16-15, 41-53) — the High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies — on Thursday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.

RHP Will Watson (0-3, 2.25), the New York Mets No. 13 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is expected to make the start for the Cyclones. The BlueClaws are projected to counter with LHP Wesley Moore (0-3, 5.68)

Live coverage on the Cyclones Radio Network, Bally Sports Live, and MiLB.tv will begin at 12:15 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn fell to Jersey Shore for a second straight night on Wednesday, this time by a score of 5-3...In addition to the baseball on the field, it was a wacky night off the field as well. Just before the start of the contest, C Eduardo Tait was a late scratch from the Jersey Shore lineup as a result of a trade occurring between Philadelphia and Minnesota, sending RHP Jhoan Duran to the Phillies in exchange for Tait and RHP Mick Abel...Sure enough, in the bottom of the 1st, 3B Jesus Baez was pinch-ran for as a result of a trade between the Mets and St. Louis Cardinals, sending RHP Ryan Helsley to New York...Baez headed for St. Louis, in addition to his Brooklyn teammates, RHPs Nate Dohm and Frank Elissalt...Brooklyn was held scoreless from the 6th inning on, as Jersey Shore erased a 3-run deficit with a 4-run 7th inning...1B-3B Zach Arnold, who was not a member of the initial BlueClaws starting lineup, finished 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI...For Brooklyn, RHP Joel Diaz tossed 4.2 innings of 1-run ball, and CF A.J. Ewing went 2-for-4 at the dish with a run.

SO LONG, FAREWELL: Brooklyn's roster certainly looks different going into play on Thursday than it did headed into Wednesday's game...A busy trade deadline eve saw the Mets make two trades, one of which involved three current Cyclones...New York acquired RHP Ryan Helsley from St. Louis in exchange for 3B Jesus Baez, RHP Nate Dohm, and RHP Frank Elissalt...Baez was a staple atop the Brooklyn lineup all season...The 20-year-old slashed .244/.337/.406/.742 across 70 games with Brooklyn...Baez also launched 10 home runs and scored 43 runs...Dohm compiled a 2.62 ERA across 11 games with the 'Clones, while Elissalt appeared in only two contests with Brooklyn after spending the majority of the year with St. Lucie...The other trade the Mets made on Wednesday involved two former 'Clones, as RHP Blade Tidwell and RHP José Butto were dealt to San Francisco with OF Drew Gilbert, in exchange for RHP Tyler Rogers.
