Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (8-8, 54-28) continue their nine-game homestand and six-game series against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (8-8, 38-43) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — on Wednesday evening at 6:40 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.

 

RHP Brendan Girton (3-2, 2.89) is expected to make the start for the Cyclones. The Blue Rocks are projected to counter with RHP Bryan Cáceres (2-3, 8.04).

LAST TIME OUT: The 'Clones were topped at the hands of the Blue Rocks on a wet Tuesday night at Maimonides Park, 4-1...The contest included a 1 hour and 49 minute rain delay following the conclusion of the 3rd inning...Both teams carried combined no-hit efforts into the 7th inning...RHP Will Watson was untouchable through his 3.0 frames prior to the rainfall, striking out 5 and walking 1...LHP Jake Bennett, Wilmington's starter, was equally dominant over his 3.0 no-hit innings, logging 5 punchouts and 2 walks...Wilmington grabbed its first hit in the 7th thanks to a 2-out base knock from LF T.J. White, while Brooklyn's first hit came courtesy of an infield single from 2B Marco Vargas to leadoff the home 8th...The Blue Rocks did all their damage in the 8th, notching 4 runs thanks to a sac fly from RF Jared McKenzie, followed by a bases-clearing 3-run blast by SS Cortland Lawson...Brooklyn spoiled the shutout in the home 8th with an RBI triple from 1B Corey Collins.
