Game 1 - Mets and Cubs traded runs in the 4th and it stayed 1-1 until the 11th. Pete Alonso doubled off Marcus Stroman to bring in Francisco Lindor in the Mets 4th while Frank Schwindel's RBI single off Taijuan Walker tied it back up. In the 11th, Pete Alonso was it it again. Pete's Sac Fly drove in Luis Guillorme with the go ahead run and Edwin Diaz worked a 1-2-3 bottom on the 11th for the Mets Win.

In the 10th, the Mets get two gift runs as Pete Alonso is hit by the pitch with the bases loaded and Francisco Lindor scores from 3rd on an errant pick-off throw. Yoan Lopez allows a run in the bottom of the inning but induces Frank Schwindel to ground into a bases loaded double play to end it.

Rod Kanehl singled to Houston SS Jimmy Winn and later went to 3rd on an errant pick-off by pitcher Hal Woodeshick. After Al Moran walked, Norm Sherry singled to drive home Kanehl with the winner.
