Mets jumped out to a 5-1 lead thanks to a bases loaded Jeff McNeil single, a Mark Canha solo homer and Tommy Pham RBI double. After the Giants cut the lead to 5-4 in the 7th, Pete Alonso doubled and Starling Marte singled him in. Pete also added a 2-run homer in the 8th.

Brandon Nimmo led off the Mets' 1st with a single and Starling Marte homered in the next at-bat to give the Mets an early 2-0 lead. Texas answered with two homers for 4 runs in the top or the 2nd to take the lead for good - later adding anothr dinger off Mets starter and loser Trevor Williams. Eduard Escobar added a homer later for the Mets 3rd run.

Ron Darling allowed a Bill Madlock homer, a Marvell Wynne single and Sam Khalifa RBI double to start the 9th. Roger McDowell came on to retire the next three allowing just Khalifa to score on a groundout to preserve the win.
