The Brooklyn Cyclones (19-28, 65-48) conclude a six-game homestand and go for a series victory against the Hub City Spartanburgers (24-23, 55-57) — the High-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers — on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.
RHP Will Watson (1-3, 2.01), the New York Mets’ No. 11 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is expected to make the start for the Cyclones. The Spartanburgers are projected to counter with the Rangers’ No. 23 farmhand per MLB Pipeline, RHP Kolton Curtis (2-3, 5.81).

LAST TIME OUT: The Cyclones took down the Spartanburgers, 5-3, on Saturday night, putting themselves in position to capture the series with a win on Sunday...Brooklyn utilized a 3-run 6th inning to put them in front...The Cyclones erased both 2-0 and 3-1 deficits in the win...RHP Hunter Hodges was stupendous in just his third overall appearance since joining Brooklyn...The righty surrendered just 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking a pair over 3.1 scoreless innings en route to the win... LHP Ryan Ammons shut the door to collect his first save of the year...C Vincent Perozo enjoyed a productive day at the dish...The backstop was 2-for-3 with a couple of runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base...The 'Clones 3-run 6th came courtesy of RBI base hits from Perozo and LF Troy Schreffler Jr., in addition to a fielding error committed by Hub City 2B Theo Hardy, which would have ended the frame...Brooklyn pitching buckled down in big spots all night, as Hub City was just 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position.
THIS DATE IN CYCLONES HISTORY: On August 17, 2011, as part of BrooklyNite at the ballpark, the Cyclones added Duke Snider's No. 4 to the Ring of Honor...In 2012, OF Brandon Nimmo went 3-for-6 with a home run and tied the franchise record with 6 RBI in a 12-4 win at Tri-City.
