Mets: 

  • The Mets lost the final game of their four-game series with the Marlins by a score of 5-1…Marks the first time they have lost a series to the Marlins at Citi Field since August 25-26, 2020…They fall to 5-5 on the season series against Miami…Are 15-7-1 in series at home this season.
  • The Mets batted .366 (90-246) with runners in scoring position in the month of August…It’s their highest mark in a single calendar month (min. 20 G) in franchise history, the previous being when the team batted .333 (71-213) in July 2006.

Kodai Senga (4.2 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, HR): 

  • Allowed a career-high-tying five earned runs over 4.2 innings…The only other time he has allowed as many earned runs was on May 11, 2023 at Cincinnati…His seven hits allowed today were a season high…In nine starts since returning from the Injured List, has gone 0-2 with a 5.90 ERA (26 ER/39.2 IP) with 24 walks and 39 strikeouts…Went 7-3 with a 1.47 ERA (12 ER/73.2 IP) with 31 walks and 70 strikeouts in his first 13 games of the season.
  • Through his first 52 career starts, his 3.00 ERA is the ninth-best in franchise history and the best mark through as many career games since Noah Syndergaard’s 2.81 ERA from May 12, 2015 - September 13, 2016…His 320 strikeouts through 52 career games is the sixth-best in franchise history, trailing only Dwight Gooden (433), Syndergaard (369), Matt Harvey (361), Jacob deGrom (349) and Nolan Ryan (328).

Brandon Waddell (4.1 IP, 3 H, 2 K, 4 K): 

  • Tossed 4.1 scoreless innings in relief and stranded two inherited runners…Marks the second time this season he has thrown 4.1 scoreless innings out of the pen (also: 4/30 vs. ARI)...He joins Chicago-AL’s Tyler Alexander as the only bullpen pitchers to record at least 4.1 scoreless innings in multiple outings this season and he is the first Met to do so since Darren Oliver in 2006…He joins Oliver and Dicky González (2001) as the only Mets relievers to record multiple such outings in a single season over the last 40 years (since 1986).

Brandon Nimmo (1-3, 2B, BB): 

  • Has hit safely in his last 14 starts dating back to August 12…In that span, has hit .386 (22-57)…He has recorded an extra-base hit in four consecutive games and six of his seven hits in those games have gone for extra-bases.

Jeff McNeil (2-4, 2B, R): 

  • Recorded a double in the second and a single in the seventh…Was the 248th multi-hit game of his career, passing Howard Johnson for the 12th-most such games in franchise history…Keith Hernandez is next on the list with 256 such games.

Juan Soto (1-4, SB): 

  • Has reached base safely in each of his last 10 games…Has three stolen bases over his last two games and six of his 26 stolen bases this season have come over his last nine games.

Francisco Lindor (1-4, SB): 

  • Extended his hitting streak to six games with a single in the third inning…He’s hit safely in 18 of his last 19 games and has a .415/.473/.671 (34-82) slashline with six doubles, five home runs, 12 RBI, 19 runs and eight stolen bases.
  • Has batted .350 (41-117) in the month of August, his best batting average over a single month in his career since his career-high .373 (44-118) average in May of 2018 with Cleveland.
