  • The Mets beat the Phillies, 13-3, in the first game of their three game set…Improved to 26-17 in series openers and 14-8 in series openers at home…They have beaten the Phillies in eight consecutive games at Citi Field including Game 3 and Game 4 of the 2024 NLDS…It is tied for the second-longest home winning streak against the Phillies in franchise history (also: 8/31/14-8/31/15)...Only trails a 10-game win streak against Philadelphia from June 20, 1984 - August 13, 1985…Scored at least 13 runs for the fourth time this season and for the second time at home…They have scored a Major League-leading 93 runs in 13 games since August 12 and their 133 runs in the month of August are the second-most in the majors. 
  • Mets batters recorded 11 hits with runners in scoring position…It’s their most such hits in a game since their 12 hits with RISP on May 3, 2017 vs. Atlanta… Their .351 batting average with RISP this month is the best in the NL and the second-best in the majors, trailing only Toronto (.360). 
  • The Mets recorded 13 unanswered runs tonight…They have done so one other time this season (also: 4/28 at WAS, 15 unanswered runs)...It’s the 30th time in Mets history that the team has scored at least 13 unanswered runs…Courtesy of Elias. 

Kodai Senga (4.0+ IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, HP): 

  • Allowed three earned runs on six hits and three walks over 4.0 innings…Has allowed three or more earned runs in consecutive games for the second time this season and just the third time in his career…His six hits allowed tied a season high (also: 4/25 and 8/20)...He has surrendered six hits in each of his last two start and it is only the second time he has done so in his career (also: 8/2-7/23). 
  • Has posted a 5.40 ERA (21 ER/35.0 IP) in eight starts since returning from the IL…Had a 1.47 ERA (12 ER/73.2 IP) through his first 13 starts of the season. 

Mark Vientos (2-3, 2 2B, 2 RBI, R, HP): 

  • Hit an RBI double in the fourth to put the Mets on the board…Lined a go-ahead RBI double to right field in the fifth inning to put the Mets in front 4-3…Marked his second career game with multiple doubles (also: 7/10/24 vs Washington)... Extended his hitting streak to eight games and he is hitting .387 (12-31) over that span…During that span he has 13 RBI and nine extra-base hits (4 2B and 5 HR) which are both the most of his career in an eight-game span.
Luis Torrens (3-5, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 2 R): 
  • Plated one with an opposite field double in the fifth inning…Hit a three-run homer in the seventh to increase the Mets lead to 10-3…Marked his third home run of the season and his first since June 29 at Pittsburgh…Drove in one with a single in the eighth…Recorded a career-high five RBI and was his first RBI since July 20 vs. Cincinnati…Marked the seventh three-hit game of his career and his second this season (also: 4/13 at ATH). 
  • Was his seventh career game with multiple extra-base hits and his first this season (last: 9/2/24 vs. BOS).
Brandon Nimmo (1-4, RBI, BB, 2 R): 
  • Hit an RBI single to cut the Mets deficit to 3-2…He has recorded a hit in eight of his last 10 games and he is batting .314 (11-35) with six RBI over that span.

Jeff McNeil (2-4, 3 RBI): 
  • Tied the game at three with an RBI single in the fourth and hit an RBI single in the eighth…Also drove in one with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning…Has recorded 12 RBI over his last six games which is the most he’s driven in during a six-game span in his career...He has reached base safely in eight of his last nine games and he is batting .382 (13-34) with a 1.156 OPS over that span

Starling Marte (1-3, RBI, BB, HP): 
  • Hit an RBI single in the sixth inning to extend the Mets lead to 6-3…Has recorded a hit in each of his last eight starts…In 22 games since July 2 Marte is batting .365 (27-74) with 1.018 OPS.

Tyrone Taylor (3-4, 2B, RBI, BB, 2 R): 

  • Hit an RBI single in the eighth inning…Also doubled in the sixth and singled in the seventh…Recorded his third three-hit game this season and his second in his last three games with an at-bat…Reached base safely at least four times for the first time this season and the fourth time in his career (last: 6/12/24 vs. MIA).
