ESPN.com: “The Angels led 2-0 going into the seventh after starter José Soriano tossed six shutout innings and Kevin Pillar made a pair of great defensive plays. But the Mets loaded the bases with one out and J. D. Martinez drove a low and inside sinker from Hunter Strickland over the wall in center. It was Martinez’s 10th career grand slam.
NY Post: Mets’ new-look bullpen falters late in crushingloss to Angels. “Huascar Brazoban, a reliever acquired from the Marlins on Tuesday just ahead of the trade deadline, was entrusted a seventh-inning lead against the Angels and started easily enough with two strikeouts. But the fireballing right-hander never got the third out, and this night at Disneyland became a car wreck on the I-5 Freeway for the Mets. Brazoban surrendered a three-run homer to Zach Neto, and the Mets never recovered in a 5-4 loss at Angel Stadium.”

Brian Joura Mets 360: “deGrom cruised through the first four innings before running into trouble in the fifth with a seven-run lead. Last time out, deGrom got in trouble with his changeup. This time around it was the slider, as he hung one to old batterymate Travis d’Arnaud, who hit it for a homer. The last two homers given up by deGrom came to former teammates, as Wilmer Flores was the last one to take him deep.”
SNY.TV: Mets Takeaways from Monday's 7-2 win over the Braves, including Jacob deGrom's first win of the season. “Monday’s start marked the first time the two-time defending Cy Young Award winner reached double-digits in strikeouts this season.”
