Brian Joura Mets360: "Juan Soto had six RBIs and Edwin Diaz got a four-out save, lifting the Mets to a 10-8 win over the Tigers Monday afternoon over the Tigers in Detroit. It was another lousy day for the club’s starting pitcher but there are no style points for wins here in September."

Newsday: "Juan Soto took the Mets on his back on Monday, hitting a go-ahead grand slam and — after the Mets led that lead get away — adding a tiebreaking two-run triple...Soto struggled with runners in scoring position for the first four months of his Mets career. Since Aug. 1, he’s 11-for-26 (.423) with three home runs and a 1.446 OPS in those situations."

Juan Soto tied his career-high and his 6 RBIs. This marked the second time Soto achieved this feat, as he also recorded 6 RBIs on September 17, 2023, against the Oakland Athletics while playing for the San Diego Padres.

NY Daily News: "In the bottom of the fifth, a wild pitch by struggling reliever Ryne Stanek (3-6) scored the tying run. Stanek had just entered the game for Gregory Soto, who left with one out and runners on the corners. The right-hander shut the door after that, giving Juan Soto a chance to retake the lead for the Mets with his triple off Drew Sommers (0-1) in the top of the next inning. The Mets scored three times in that inning, pushing the game out of reach."

NY Post: "Sean Manaea had a sixth straight underwhelming start. The left-hander lasted just 3 ²/₃ innings and allowed five earned runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and one walk. Manaea, who has failed to complete five innings in each of his past three starts, saw his ERA jump to 5.60."
