10/1/25: Mets Roster Move - Chris Devenski Elects Free Agency

 

The New York Mets have announced the following roster move:

RHP Chris Devenski elected free agency.

The Mets called up Devenski 6 different times during the 2025 season.  The failure of their starting pitchers to go deep in games, put extra strain on the bullpen.  The Mets used the strategy of shuffling pitchers back and forth to Syracuse with Devenski being one of the more active players.  

He was one the 46 pitchers the Mets used in 2025 - a new Major League Record.  

Devenski declared free agency in July but ended up resigning with the Mets 3 days later.

Overall he appeared in 13 games with the Mets, including one game as an opener, 2.16 ERA, 16.2 innings, 10 hits 4 runs, 4 ER, 1 homer, 5 walks, 14 Ks, .900 WHIP.
