Red Sox take a 3-2 lead in the 1986 Series and Bruce Hurst throws a complets game beating Dwight Gooden.

Bruce Hurst won his 2nd game of the Series with a complete game, 2 runs, 10 hits, 1 homer, 1 walk, 6 Ks. After 7 scoreless innings, the Mets finally scored on Tim Teufel's solo homer in the 8th. Rafael Santana singled in Mookie Wilson for the 2nd run in the 9th bring the tying run to the plate with two out but Lenny Dykstra struck out for third out.
Phil Pepe, NY Daily News: "While Hurst the Red Sox star lefthander excelled, Dwight Gooden failed to make it through the 5th inning and took the defeat."
Dave Henderson Tripled in the 2nd on a ball that Darryl Strawberry was not able to cut off. He later scored on a Spike Owen Sac Fly. After Bill Buckner reached on an error by Rafael Santana in the 3rd and moved to 2nd on walk to Jim Rice, Dwight Evans singled in Buckner for the 2nd run. Sox added two more in the 5th on Don Baylor's RBI single and Dave Henderson's RBI double.
Besides the difficulty cutting off Dave Henderson's 2nd inning hit, Darryl Strawberry had a tough night at the plate going 1 for 4 and almost getting ejected in the 6th arguing with the home plate umpire. When he took the field in the 9th, he was met with a taunting Dar-ryl, Dar-ryl chant. Strawberry tipped his cap in response.
