PRESS RELEASE: METS SIGN ALL-STAR RHP DEVIN WILLIAMS

 


 

FLUSHING, NY, December 3, 2025 – The New York Mets today announced that the team has signed All-Star RHP Devin Williams to a three-year contract.

 

“Devin is a dynamic pitcher who will help bolster the back of the bullpen,” said Mets President of Baseball Operations David Stearns. “He is an experienced arm with a proven track record pitching in high-leverage situations. We are excited to welcome Devin and his family to Queens.”

 

Williams, 31, has posted a 31-16 record with 86 saves, a 2.45 ERA (81 ER/297.2 IP), 137 walks and 465 strikeouts across seven Major League seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees. He was named the National League Rookie of the Year in 2020 and selected to the All-Star Game twice in 2022 and again in 2023. Williams is a two-time Trevor Hoffman National League Reliever of the Year Award winner (2020 and 2023).

 

The St. Louis, MO native appeared in 67 games for the Yankees last year, going 4-6 with 18 saves, a 4.79 ERA (33 ER/62.0 IP), 25 walks and 90 strikeouts. He ranked seventh in K/9.0IP (13.06) and ninth in strikeout rate (34.7%) among Major League relievers. Williams was second in the majors in strikeout rate (39.3%) after the All-Star break last year (min. 25 IP).

 

Since 2020, Williams leads Major League relievers in SLG (.249), is second in opponents average (.157), strikeout rate (39.4%) and K/9.0IP (14.29), is third in opponents OPS (.512) and fifth in ERA (2.38).

 

The right-handed pitcher was originally selected by the Brewers in the second round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Hazelwood High School in Missouri.
