Report: Mets Get Luis Robert Jr. For Luisangel Acuna and Truman Pauley

 

According to Mark Feinsand on X, the New York Mets have acquired Luis Robert Jr. from the Chicago White Sox for Luisangel Acuna and RHP prospect Truman Pauley. 

A Gold Glove Center Fielder in the 2020 COVID year, his rookie season, Robert Jr. had his best year in 2023 when he hit 38 homers with 80 RBIs as he won the Silver Slugger award.

Despite a very promising Winter Ball Season where he hit 13 homers in 50 games (playoffs included), Luisangel Acuna was out of minor league options and the Mets, already loaded with infielders added 3 more (Jorge Polanco, Bo Bichette and Marcus Semien) this Winter.  

Truman Pauley was drafted in the 12th round in the 2025 draft and though he only appeared in 3 games, 4.1 innings for the St. Lucie Mets, he showed promise with the Mets.  He is not ranked in MLB's Mets Top 30 Prospect Rankings.
