The Mets’ biggest free agent signing this offseason was Bo Bichette. He’s a good player but he’s likely overpaid on his 3/$126 deal, one that not only includes two opt outs, but pays the player an additional $5 million if he does leave early. Oh, and the Mets are going to ask him to play a position he’s never played before. Bichette is likely athletic enough to handle third base; it’s just another on the list of “what could possibly go wrong?”
