FLUSHING, N.Y., February 9, 2026 – The New York Mets today announced that 69 players will report to Major League Spring Training. The club extended invitations to 29 non-roster players highlighted by the following top prospects.
OF Carson Benge enters the 2026 season as the No. 16 prospect in baseball and the No. 4 outfield prospect according to MLB Pipeline. The 22-year-old slashed .281/.385/.472 with 15 home runs, 25 doubles, seven triples, 73 RBI, 87 runs, 22 stolen bases and an .857 OPS across 116 games combined between High-A Brooklyn, Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse last season. Named the organization's Player of the Year in 2025, Benge represented the Mets in the All-Star Futures Game in Atlanta. He was drafted by the Mets in the first round (19th overall) of the 2024 First-Year Player Draft out of Oklahoma State.
OF/INF Ryan Clifford posted an .826 OPS with 29 home runs and 93 RBI in 139 games between Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse. The 6-3 200-pounder led all Mets minor leaguers in home runs and RBI last season and was tied for the organization lead in total bases (226). Among all minor league players in 2025, Clifford ranked sixth in home runs and 10th in RBI. The fifth-best first base prospect according to MLB Pipeline, Clifford was originally drafted by the Houston Astros in the 11th round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft.
OF/INF A.J. Ewing batted .301 (153-485) with three home runs, 10 triples, 26 doubles, 87 runs, 70 stolen bases and a .401 OBP across 124 games between Single-A St. Lucie, High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton last year. Among all minor leaguers in 2025, Ewing ranked fifth in stolen bases, tied for sixth in triples and eighth in hits. Additionally, Ewing led all qualified Mets farmhands in OBP and batting average. Ranked as the No. 97 prospect in baseball by MLB Pipeline, Ewing was drafted by the Mets in the fourth round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft out of Springboro High School in Ohio.
RHP Ryan Lambert pitched to a 1.53 ERA (9 ER/53.0 IP) with 81 strikeouts, seven saves and a .178 opponents' batting average in 46 games between High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton. At the end of 2025, Lambert ranked as the No. 20 prospect in the organization according to MLB Pipeline. The 23-year-old was drafted in the eighth round of the 2024 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Oklahoma.
INF Jacob Reimer slashed .282/.379/.491 with 17 home runs, five triples, 32 doubles, 77 RBI, 88 runs and an .870 OPS. across 122 games between High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton in 2025. Reimer led all qualified Mets prospects in SLG and OPS and ranked second in the organization in extra-base hits and runs. The No. 2 third base prospect for the 2026 season according to MLB Pipeline, Reimer was drafted by the Mets in the fourth round of the 2022 First-Year Player Draft out of Yucaipa High School in California.
C/OF/INF Chris Suero recorded a .786 OPS with 16 home runs, 68 RBI, 16 doubles and 35 stolen bases across 115 games between High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton in 2025. In 15 games with the Scottsdale Scorpions of the Arizona Fall League, Suero slashed .283/.353/.567 with five home runs, two doubles, 14 RBI and eight stolen bases. The Bronx, New York native was signed by the Mets as a non-drafted free agent on March 8, 2022.
RHP Jack Wenninger went 12-6 with a 2.92 ERA (44 ER/135.2 IP) and 147 strikeouts in 26 starts with Double-A Binghamton last season. In the Eastern League, Wenninger ranked second in wins, strikeouts, ERA and innings. The 6-4 210-pounder was drafted by the Mets in the sixth round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Illinois.
